About This Project
In this stunning Grade II listed property, our clients sought a modern, statement kitchen that would complement the room’s existing architectural features, including decorative wooden panelling, a charming fireplace, and intricate ceiling details. To contrast new kitchen the design to the room’s unique character, we chose a bold turquoise green inspired by the fireplace tiles, which we applied to the kitchen units.
A striking brushed stainless steel island, spanning over 3 meters, became the centrepiece of the space. Mirrored plinths beneath the island create a floating effect, beautifully contrasting with the room’s original parquet flooring.
Lighting was a key consideration, and to enhance the space, we installed a sophisticated J Adams track fitting in the window recess, illuminating the AGA and prep areas with a warm, focused glow.
For a more casual dining experience, we incorporated a breakfast bar area with stools, carefully matching the wood accents from the surrounding paneling onto the island. In the adjacent dining area, we introduced vibrant contrast by pairing the turquoise tones with bold pink, red, and orange dining chairs, upholstered in a stunning Christopher Farr cloth fabric.
The result is a “wow” kitchen that harmoniously blends modern design with the room’s historic charm, creating an unforgettable space.
